What is the difference between an Intramuscular Vitamin (IM) and an Intravenous (IV) Vitamin?

A Vitamin Injection is a quick injection that delivers vitamins into the muscle. There is no intravenous access required with vitamin injections and the absorption rate of each vitamin is 80-90%. Intravenous injections contain a much larger amount of vitamins due to the ability for larger volume and the absorption rate of each vitamin is 100%.

How long does the effect of IV therapy last?

After an IV infusion, the vitamins remain in your system for 2-3 weeks.

How does the process work?

An Intravenous (IV) vitamin infusion is a technique used to administer hydration and vitamins. A small plastic tube (catheter) is inserted into a vein using a needle that is quickly removed once the plastic tube is advanced into the vein. IV infusions consist of 1000 ml of normal saline with a mixture of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants depending on the kind. The intravenous route is the fastest way to deliver fluids and vitamins throughout the body with 100 % absorption into the bloodstream. IV infusions usually take 30-60 minutes to infuse.
